Another Sternwheel Festival came to a close on Sunday afternoon. The three-day celebration featured live music, fried food, carnival rides, and much more.
The pinnacle event for most attendees, however, is the fireworks. This year’s display did not disappoint, as thousands of onlookers persisted through the cold shower to gaze at the colorful array of pyrotechnics.
This year, I watched the fireworks from the Williamstown riverbank. For those wanting to experience the Sternwheel Festival without the enormous crowd, Williamstown offers a more laid-back, family oriented environment.
While Saturday night saw some brief rain, the rest of the weekend was dry and sunny. Other highlights from the festival include the boat race, 5k run, car show, artist walk, and Queen Genevieve pageant.
