The Marietta College Women’s lacrosse season is right around the corner. With the fall semester coming to an end, it leaves only a few weeks until the Pioneers take the field to kick off the 2025 season.

The team will look quite different this year as first year head coach Linday Reho is looking to have a bounce back season after the team missed the playoffs a season ago. Coach Reho was previously the assistant coach of the team under the team’s first ever head coach Malory Nadrah. Reho takes charge as just the second head coach in program history as she looks to make history with this Pioneer team.

After an impressive 2023 season with a 10-7 overall record and 4-3 in the OAC, the Pioneers hosted their first ever home OAC Playoff game facing Otterbein University. The game was back and forth but ultimately Marietta fell short making a first-round exit losing the game 7-12.

The 2024 season was filled with excitement as the Pios started off the season strong with a 3-0 record. However, some midseason woes saw the team finish with a 6-10 record on the year and just 1-6 in the OAC.

In an interview head coach Lindsay Reho said “Starting strong is something we have typically been good at, even in games… What is going to help carry that momentum through the season is mentality. We were no short of talent last year and years prior… What is going to separate us this year is our mentality,”

Later in the interview they talked about the addition of five freshman to the team and their impact. “Being a young team means we will have to rely on some of the young guns to come in and make an impact right away.” “I foresee them coming into this season and each making an impact in their own way.” Reho stated.

Before the season kicks off, the team is having a prospect day on February 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to help prepare the team for the future. Current staff and players will give coaching instructions, a tour, and info sessions at Marietta Field to see what it is like to be a Pioneer.

With a change in the Head Coaching chair, some new additions to the team, and the retention of some key players. The Pioneers enter the season with high hopes and the fans excited for what the team has in store for their 2025 campaign. They kick off their season Wednesday February 19th at 7:00 p.m. at home against Grove City College.
