Last week, Marietta College’s Pioneer Activities Council (PAC) hosted another successful spirit week. A week filled with prizes, and something new every day. On day one, many Pioneers joined together on an online zoom call to compete in Bingo, in which the students all competed for prizes like a Smart T.V., Nintendo switch, Starbuck’s gift cards, and many more different things.
Following Monday’s bingo, the prizes did not stop coming Tuesday where it was Spirit giveaway day. Many students, as well as staff members across the campus, had their names randomly selected to win pioneer-themed prizes.
On Wednesday, pioneers joined together for another game show via zoom call. This time it was Love it or Leave it Valentine’s Day Game Show. This was another fun night for students to join to compete in another competitive game night. Following this, on Thursday, there was the Virtual paint show. To wrap up a wonderful week, on Friday, it was Navy Blue and White Day.
The Pioneer faithful were asked to wear their navy blue to show their school spirit and to help celebrate Founders Day. The men’s and women’s basketball teams were also competing that day, so it was also to show them support as they took on conference rival Mount Union. Students and staff were asked to post pictures of them wearing their Marietta navy blue and white with the hashtag #mcspiritweek21 for a chance to win even more prizes.
All in all, it was a very successful spirit week, especially with the challenging times of the pandemic. The events were made very “COVID-19 safe” but another week where Pioneers could come together to have fun, have friendly competition, and win all sorts of different prizes.
