On Saturday, March 25th, animal lovers from the Ohio Valley are getting together to show their support for the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley at the 14th Annual FurBall. This event, beginning at 7 p.m. and lasting until midnight, is a fun way for people to donate to the Humane Society. The event will include raffles, appetizers, and plenty of laughter.
According to the 14th Annual HSOV FurBall Facebook Page, tickets are $35 and a table reservation to seat eight is $350. As of February 10th, there were only 121 tickets still available out of the original 350. To purchase a ticket, call Becky Johnston at (740)-350-2766, and she will “hook you up,” according to the Facebook Page.
For animal lovers unable to attend the event, or adopt a new friend, the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley is always looking for volunteers, according to intern Anna Cooper. The Humane Society is in need of people to help with public relations, advertising, and fundraising, as well as people to bathe, pet, and socialize the animals.
Other special volunteer positions include landscaping and answering requests in the animals wanted books. The volunteer form can be found here: http://hsov.org/forms/HSOV%20Volunteer%20Application%20Feb%202016.pdf, or on their webpage under the Volunteer tab. Volunteers must be 16 years old or accompanied by an adult.
