Nominated by the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, Westyn Bennington is from Ashley, Ohio. Westyn is majoring in Petroleum Engineering. Outside of class, Westyn is an Orientation Leader, a member of the Student Alumni Association and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Nominated by the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, Cierra Bloom is from Denison, Ohio. Cierra is majoring in Athletic Training, with a minor in Psychology. She is also involved in the Marietta College Athletic Training student organization, is a member of Psi Chi Psychology Honorary, and is on the softball team.
Nominated by the Chi Omega Sorority, Amy Castle. Amy is the Member Educator of Chi Omega, Senior Editor of Pulse literary magazine and Vice President of the Sigma Tau Delta English Honorary. She is also an ACC of McCoy, involved with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, Kappa Delta Pi English Honorary and the Marietta College Teacher Education Association.
Nominated by the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, Gregg Dyakon is from Kingwood, Texas. Gregg is majoring in Petroleum Engineering. He had an internship with EOG Resources in Fort Worth, Texas in the summer of 2015. This past summer, he interned with J.T. Thorpe and Son, Inc. and was offered a full-time position.
Nominated by the Men’s Basketball team, AJ Edwards is from Cleveland, Ohio. AJ is majoring in Petroleum Engineering. He is also a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Nominated by the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, Nathaniel M. Halmagyi is from Yorkville, Illinois. Nathaniel is majoring in Petroleum Engineering. On campus, he has been a member of Society of Petroleum Engineers, AADE, AAPG, SWE, College Republicans, Marietta College Geology Club, Inter-Fraternity Council, Ultimate Frisbee Club, SAA and the 9/11 Memorial Ceremony. Nathaniel is also the Reservations and Events manager for Andrews Hall.
Nominated by the Cheerleading Team, Brittany Hassman (pronounced Hauz-man) is from Massillon, Ohio, Brittany is majoring in Applied Physics with a minor in Mathematics. She plans to obtain a license one day to teach Math and Physics. Brittany is the vice president of Chi Omega and involved in the Physics club.
Nominated by the Marietta College Football Team, Aaron Johnson is from Rex, Georgia. Aaron is majoring in Psychology. On campus, Aaron serves as the Captain of the football Pioneers, is a PioPrep Leader and a member of Student Diversity Council.
Nominated by the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, Joshua Kertes is from Carnegie, Pennsylvania. Joshua is majoring in Land and Energy Management. In his free time, Joshua is a cheerleader and involved in the Marietta College Landman Association and the Golf Club.
Nominated by the Marietta College Scholars Community, Kay Shanda is from Columbus, Ohio. Kay is majoring in Environmental Science with a minor in Studio Art and Leadership. On campus, Kay is a member of Next Gen, Kappa Pi, and Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble. She is also an intern for United Way and Ohio Environmental Council, a McDonough Scholar, and an EXCEL leader.
Nominated by the Sigma Kappa Sorority, Shelbi Westfield is from Cranberry Twp, Pennsylvania. Shelbi is majoring in Health Science, with a minor in Psychology. In her free time, Shelbi is a part of the women’s rowing team and SAAC. She is also a student teacher assistant. Shelbi may live in Pittsburgh, but her favorite team will always be the New York Giants.
